By Meredith Cullen Many West High students enjoy spending time in downtown Iowa City amongst the tasty shops and diverse culture. Some find downtown even more exciting at night with the opportunity to explore the bustling activity and bright lights.
In spite of freezing temperatures on Friday night, West dominated and won 44-0 against City, bringing home the Boot trophy for the first time since 2004.

Students at West, City and Jr. high schools competed in the state special Olympics in Ames. Events included biking, swimming, shot put, discus, javelin, running events and worked together as a team in running relays. Congrats to all the gold, silver and bronze medalists!
