The boys basketball team came back late in the fourth quarter to defeat Cedar Rapids Kennedy 42-39. West trailed all game until that point in the fourth quarter.

Kennedy’s three point shooting, specifically from senior Micheal Bisenius who had four threes on the night, kept the Trojans at bay but their defense was ultimately unable to contain the athleticism of the Trojans.

Wali Parks ’16 led the team in scoring with 17 points including 3 ferocious dunks. Connor McCaffery ’17 had 12 and Devontae Lane ’17 had 9, respectively.

West came into the game ranked tenth in the state and was able to improve their record to 12-3 on the season with the win while Kennedy dropped to 5-10. West will attempt to win their fifth game in a row next Tuesday, February 2, when they take on Cedar Rapids Xavier (13-2).
