Highlights from the Drake Relays

Unable to travel to Des Monies from Thursday April 27th to Saturday April 29th? Or just did not want to sit in the wind and rain? We have you covered, here are the highlights from the Drake Relays.

The Drake Relays took place April 27-29 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. These relays attract university, college and professional track athletes from all around the nation. High school athletes also compete, and to qualify they must have their jump, throw or run be among the top in the state, all classes combined. West High returned from the Drake Relays with two first-place flags: one won by Valerie Welch ’17 in the 100-meter hurdles and another by Leah Dusterhoft ’17 in the discus. Here are some photo highlights and results from the track meet.
