Iowa City held its 51st Annual Pride Festival June 18. The festival started with the Unity March, which walked through downtown Iowa City starting from College Green Park and ending at the Main Stage. The streets were crowded as thousands of people, young and old, came to support the LGBTQ+ community. The events on the main stage were kicked off by American Song Contest participant Alisabeth Von Presley, who was followed by other performers including singer-songwriter and bassist Miss Christine and local drag performers. Businesses and organizations set up booths to show their support, and some handed out flags and stickers to participants. Students from West High also showed their support by running the ICCSD booth.
