6 West High students score perfect on ACT exam

This fall, seven students in the Iowa City Community School District received a perfect score on the ACT exam.

Seven students within the ICCSD received the highest possible score of 36 on the ACT this fall. Of the seven, six were from West:

  • Quinn Baker ’18
  • Colleen Bloeser ’18
  • Yangtian Shangguan ’19
  • Wingel Xue ’18
  • Steven Yuan ’19
  • Lien Zhu ’18

From City High School, Jakob Roggy ’19 received a 36 as well. Last year, over two million US high school graduates took this popular college entrance exam, where the state average was a composite score of 21.9. Within the district, students had an average of 25.
