Kody Pudil, assistant wrestling coach, has a vision in mind for girls wrestling at West High. After observing wrestling coaches from other schools build their own girls wrestling programs, Pudil has taken the first step to bring female wrestling to West High.

A survey has been sent via email to all female students at West High in grades 9-11 in order to gauge interest for next year. The proposed plan would have girls wrestling each other in an abbreviated season that runs from December to January.

“It seems like the general consensus anymore with the evolution of girls wrestling is that girls want to just wrestle girls,” Pudil said.

With the data collected from the survey, Pudil will be able to determine how many girls have an interest in wrestling in addition to what kind of uniforms the girls would prefer.
