Last Friday, Dec. 16, West High’s Period club met to organize two upcoming period product drives. The first drive will benefit the Coralville Food Pantry. Starting after winter break, students will be able to donate unopened packages of menstrual products, such as tampons, pads and panty liners. Donation boxes, which were decorated by club members, will be located in room 230. Period club is also working towards improving accessibility to period products for West students. Club members are currently making boxes that will be placed in the girls’ bathrooms. People will be able to both donate and take menstrual products from the bathroom boxes. These donations can be individually packaged.
