Girls cross country hosts first meet of the season

On Thursday, Aug. 23 the girls cross country team hosted the Trojan Early Bird Invitational.

The girls cross country team opened their season at the University of Iowa Ashton Cross Country Course on Thursday, Aug. 23. Deniz Ince ’19 led the team placing 2nd with a time of 18:51 behind Iowa City Liberty’s Ashlyn Keeney ’22, who won in 18:12. Sophomores Katie Hoefer, Kiara Malloy-Salgado and Erica Buettner also placed in the top ten. West took home first time place with a total of 42 points.

The girls will travel to Pleasant Valley on Saturday, Sep. 1.
