In an email sent to families on Aug. 17, it was announced that West High Principal Dr. Gregg Shoultz has been appointed director of PK-12 online learning for the ICCSD this upcoming school year.

“The ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program will serve more students than approximately 94% of the school districts across the state of Iowa. Given the size and scope of this program, the district has appointed Dr. Gregg Shoultz as the director of PK-12 online learning,” wrote Interim Superintendent Matt Degner.

As a result of this staffing change, Northwest Junior High Assistant Principal and former West teacher Mitch Gross will be stepping in as interim principal for the 2020-21 school year. Gross and Shoultz will both begin their new positions on Aug. 19, pending board approval.
