Almost one year ago the baseball and softball team arrived back on campus for a chance at a shortened 2020 season. This year it’s a little different. As mask mandates and cases continue to fall both squads will be back on the diamond this summer with a full schedule. Spring athletes finish out their seasons will state titles and trips to Des Moines on the line in the upcoming weeks. For the first time in a long time, these athletes will compete and attend classes through June 11.

Highlights

Charlie Stumpff’s baseball team is looking to improve on their 7-8 record last season while battling cancellations due to COVID-19. Returning ace and the University of Iowa commit Marcus Morgan ’21 will play a big role this year on the mound after finishing last season will 34 strikeouts and a 3.18 ERA. The Trojan softball team coached by Barb Lynn finished with an 8-15 record last year behind a couple of big senior playmakers. Senior Rylee Goodfellow will finish off her high school career behind the plate and help lead the Trojans this season after leading the team in RBIs just a year ago.
