Trojan football loses to cross-town rival City High

The Trojans fell short to rival City High during the “Battle for the Boot” game on Sep. 24.

West took on cross-town rival City High and lost 56-7. This is the Little Hawks first win against the Trojans since the boot game of 2016.

With a pick six from City High’s Gable Mitchell ’22 and an 80-yard touchdown run from Joey Bouska ’22, the Little Hawks gained a large lead against West quickly.

Nate Gudenkauf ’22 caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Jack Wallace ’25 in the middle of the third quarter. Matt Jetton ’22 made the point after and the Trojans were able to put 7 points on the scoreboard. 

Next week the Trojans face off against Davenport Central at home for West High’s homecoming game.
