Even with the immense gusts of wind, the undefeated boys tennis team remained on top. The Trojans took down the Prairie Hawks with a score of 9-0 on their home courts.

“No one wants to play in the wind but it’s just something that you have to do,” Jayden Shin ’23 said.

Team captain Luca Chackalackal ’22 split sets against Anthony Schulte and came out victorious in a third set tiebreak. Jonathan Fan ’23 swept his match against Michael Day 6-0, 6-0. Shivy Mannengi ’23, Samir Singh ’24, Seth Smigel ’25 and Ryan Kirkpatrick ’24 also won in straight sets.

Shin and Smigel, along with duo Fan and Mannengi, won 6-0, 6-0 in their doubles matches. Chackalackal and Singh defeated Anthony Schulte and JT McCrea in an exciting third-set tiebreak.

The boys will face Western Dubuque and Walhart in Dubuque on Saturday, April 16th at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. respectively.
