No-cap recap: 2022 fall sports review
In the first installment of the No-Cap Recap for the 2022-23 school year, editors break down the fall sports seasons and hear from leaders of each team.

As all of the fall sports have come to a close this weekend after the girls’ swim team placed sixth at the IGHSAA state swim meet, Sports Editor Zoe Smith ’24 and Co-Managing Editor Paige Albright ’23 recap the seasons of West’s six fall sports.
Hear from manager Annie Schwartz ’23 and senior captain Andrew Polgreen ’23 from the boys’ cross-country team and juniors Cindy Wang and Gabby Moniza from the girls’ cross-country team. Senior and state-qualifier Jade Roghair discusses the girls’ swim team’s successful season. Owen Larson ’23 speaks about the growth and improvement of the boys’ golf program this season. Football captain Ryne Vander Leest ’23 talks about the football team’s improved record this season. Finally, from the volleyball team, Sophia Deyak ’23, Grace Miller ’23 and Sadie Koski ’23 recap the girls’ season.
