With the temperature sitting around 40 degrees, it may have been a chilly night for the limited spectators, but Garrett Hartwig’s squad was plenty warm after their 35-7 win against the Little Hawks Oct. 23. The football team kept their undefeated record alive by improving 5-0 in their season.

In the second match-up against the cross-town rival, senior quarterback Marcus Morgan had a two-yard touchdown run with 5:58 left in the first quarter to start off the Trojans in the game. Morgan connected with Grahm Goering ’21 for a six-yard touchdown pass to make the score 14-0 with 2.1 seconds left in the first quarter.

Touchdown runs by Trey King ’21 and Damarion Williams ’21 put the team up 35-0 into the fourth quarter. City High scored a touchdown with 3:21 left in the fourth quarter, but the team managed to stay tight and secured their spot in the third round of playoffs.

The Trojans will await who they will face for the third round of playoffs Oct. 30, which will be announced on Saturday at noon.
