The boys cross country team hosted their Homecoming meet on Sept. 28 at the Iowa City Kickers Soccer Club. The team showed out and placed first overall, with some individual notable finishes as well.

Alex McKane ’22 has had nothing short of a spectacular season. As a senior, McKane has only had one non-first-place finish, and his record-matching times has led him to be ranked second in Iowa. McKane placed first at the meet, and just last week matched the school’s five kilometer record at 15:17 at the Eastern Iowa Classic.

Following McKane, junior Seth Cheney finished fourth with a time of 17:49, only four seconds faster than Caden Noeller ’22 who finished fifth.

Sophomore Robert Strong made a top-10 appearance finishing seventh, with a time of 18:07. With four runners finishing in the top ten, the Trojans dominated over all of the eight competing schools.

West High Boys Cross Country will run again on Oct. 2 at the Wartburg All-American individual meet.
